1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how QuidQuest handles information when children, parents or guardians use the app. QuidQuest is an educational financial-literacy app provided by EqualEd.
2. Information used within the app
The app may allow a parent or child to create or enter:
- A child profile name or nickname
- A four-digit parental PIN
- Learning progress, completed lessons, stars, badges and streaks
- Quiz answers, quiz results and game progress
- Simulated savings goals
- Simulated virtual-investment activity
3. Data collection and storage
QuidQuest does not require users to create an online account. In the current version of the app, the child profile name, parental PIN and learning activity are stored locally on the user’s device and are not transmitted to EqualEd.
EqualEd does not use the information entered into the app to identify or contact a child.
4. Children’s privacy
QuidQuest is designed for children and families. The app does not ask children to provide an email address, postal address, telephone number, precise location, photograph or other direct contact information.
The app does not include public profiles, social networking, direct messaging, behavioural advertising or targeted advertising.
5. Parental PIN
The four-digit parental PIN is created by a parent or guardian on the device. It is used to protect parent-controlled areas of the app. It is not an online account password and is not sent to EqualEd.
6. Simulated financial activity
Savings, investing and portfolio features use simulated money only. QuidQuest does not provide banking, payment, brokerage, investment-advisory or real-money trading services.
7. Advertising and sharing
QuidQuest contains no third-party advertising. EqualEd does not sell or rent children’s personal information and does not share information entered into the app with advertisers or data brokers.
8. Data deletion
Users can remove locally stored information by using any reset or deletion feature available in the app. Deleting the app from the device will also remove locally stored app data, subject to the device operating system and any device backups controlled by the user.
9. Security
We use reasonable design and technical measures appropriate to an educational app. No device or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Parents and guardians should therefore avoid entering sensitive information.
10. External services and links
Distribution of the app through Apple’s App Store is subject to Apple’s own privacy practices. If the app or this website links to an external service, that service may have its own privacy policy and terms.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
